Restart a Heart Day

October 16 2018

Only one in ten survive a cardiac arrest. We can beat that, and that’s what World Restart a Heart Day is all about.

I’d like to make sure you know how you can help make the day successful this year.

On October 16th, thousands of resuscitation trainers around the world will take part in a coordinated effort to teach life-saving cardiopulmonary skills to as many people as we can.

Resus  Nelson are planning to attend Nelson Saturday Market on 13th October to rasise awareness for the up and coming “Restart a Heart Day” giving the local shoppers an opportunity to practice CPR skills and use an AED.

Also Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th October we are attending our local Nelson Intermediate School to teach 250 kids and teachers CPR and the safe use of an AED.

Just to finish off this long week of great training we are attending a local primary school, Nelson Central School teaching year 6 kids and teacher with a fun CPR ambulance race, checkout our facebook page for photos of these great events.

Kids are our furture and we need to invest our time and effort in to teaching them some fundamental lifesaving skills. To have the confidence to call  an ambulance in an emergency or to instruct an adult to start CP

If you are keen for your kids to learn more please book onto one of our courses either our Child and Infant Emergency care course great for babysitters to gain confidence indealing with emergencies, or a Basic Life Support course.

If you have a  group of friends we would be happy to come to you.
