Resuscitation Training for Vaccinating Pharmacists

 

This is a practical three-hour session for healthcare professionals who deliver immunisation in the community.

The 2020 Ministry of Health guidelines state that vaccinators no longer require oxygen and airway management training.

Please note: This is the minimal requirement for vaccinators. If your emergency equipment offers oxygen and airway adjuncts, you will need to attend the Resuscitation for Vaccinating Nurses course.

Course content:

  • Primary survey DRSABCD
  • Basic life support for adult/child/infant
  • Understanding and use of an AED
  • Management of a choking adult/child/infant
  • Management and the treatment of Anaphylaxis
  • Administration of an EpiPen and adrenaline
