Anaphylaxis Training
Course Summary
This practical, hands-on course is designed to equip participants with the skills and confidence to recognise and respond to anaphylaxis—an acute, life-threatening allergic reaction. Training is based on the ABC of Anaphylaxis: Airway, Breathing, Circulation, with a strong emphasis on real-world applications, particularly in outdoor or remote environments.

• Tour guides and outdoor instructors
• Event leaders, camp staff, and activity organisers
• General public in isolated or high-risk environments
Course Content
Participants can choose between two course options depending on their needs and setting.
Option 1: EpiPen Only Training (1 hour)
• Basic principles of allergic reactions
• Early recognition of anaphylaxis symptoms
• When and how to administer adrenaline using an EpiPen
• ABC of Anaphylaxis: Airway, Breathing, Circulation
Option 2: Full Anaphylaxis Training (EpiPen + Adrenaline Vials) (1.5 hours)
Includes everything in Option 1, plus:
• Drawing up and administering adrenaline from vials
• Accurate dosing and safe technique
• Safe handling and disposal of ampoules and syringes
• Managing anaphylaxis in remote or resource-limited settings
No prior medical training required.
Duration
• EpiPen Only: 1 hour
• Full Anaphylaxis Training: 1.5 hours
